Jan has spent two decades as a CPA with one company, now Haugen Binion & Co. CPAs. The majority of her professional time is spent on serving the individual taxpayer, along with a cross section of small business owners. Jan's specialty is advising families on how to navigate the complexities of the Internal Revenue Code, state laws, and governmental regulations. Federal and state laws and regulations seem to change almost on a weekly basis. Jan is there for you, doing the research work so you don't have too. Issues such as governmental credits change frequently. Jan will help you take proper advantage of their benefits given your individual tax situation. One area that Jan particularly enjoys is to work with clients that are single parents, widows, or are nearing or in retirement. Of the clients she works with, those in nursing homes seem to gravitate toward Jan and her bed-side manner. Since most of their earning years are behind them, minimizing their tax burden, while keeping as much as possible is critical. Jan's experience brings tremendous value not only to those close to retirement, but to the young professionals that want to get started on the right financial footing and just do things right from the beginning. Jan is married to Doug, has 2 children and lives in the south metro. Her son is currently serving in the Peace Corp overseas. Jan enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and spending time with extended family.
